

The movie was declared "semi-hit" at the box office. At the box office, the film's collections were further affected by the CAA protests, making it the second lowest-grossing film in the franchise. It opened to mixed reviews, who appreciated performance of Khan and Sudeep, but criticised for writing, music, script and screenplay. Dabangg 3 became the first Bollywood movie to be released in Kannada, after the ban on Kannada dubbed movies in Karnataka was removed. ĭabangg 3 was theatrically released worldwide on 20 December 2019, on the Pre- Christmas weekend, in Hindi, and dubbed Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. It was distributed by Salman Khan Films in North India, KJR Studios in Tamil Nadu and Yash Raj Films in International. Principal photography begun in April 2019 and shoot was completed in September 2019. The story, written by Salman, is set in a fictional town in Uttar Pradesh after the events of Dabangg 2 and showcases Chulbul Pandey's origin as a police officer, after his encounter with an old rival, Bali Singh, refreshes his memory. The film features Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Arbaaz reprising their respective characters with Kannada actor Sudeep as the antagonist and Saiee Manjrekar in her debut role. The third installment of the Dabangg franchise, it serves as prequel to Dabangg (2010) and sequel to Dabangg 2 (2012).
